Endovascular Repair (Endograft)
Endovascular repair is a procedure in which a an endovascular stent graft is inserted through a small cut in the leg and placed inside an abdominal aortic aneurysm. This procedure allows blood to flow through the endovascular stent graft rather than the damaged aneurysm part of the aorta. The procedure is typically done under local anasthesia and takes approximated 1 to 3 hours to complete.
At Greater Pittsburgh Vascular Associates, we offer our patients the AFX Endovascular AAA System from EndoLogix. AFX is a stent graft made in one piece, with a main body and limbs. For more information on this technology, please click here.
